FAQ's of First Time Visitors to Blue Hills

The most common question is...

What steps should I take once I get to the mountain?                                                                                                                 ...here is everything you need to know!

You need equipment...

1.

Head to the rental building first.

Get in line at the customer service cashier.

While in line, fill out our rental form. Up to 3 people can be on one form.

Helpful Tip: Know everyone's height, weight and shoe size. This is needed to set rental equipment.

2.

When you reach a cashier you can purchase your snow pass, rental, and lesson if you choose.

Helpful Tip: You must be 18 years of age to rent. Parent or guardian can download agreement to complete before arriving or email consent to info@bluehillsboston.com.

3.

Once you have paid for your equipment, snow pass, and/or lesson

Move across to our rental department. A technician will ask for your shoe size and confirm your information.

  • The technician will give you a pair of boots to try on.

  • Find a spot on one of our benches to try the boot on.

  • If it doesn’t fit, try another size boot.

  • Once you have found the right size, the technician will then adjust your ski or snowboard for your boot.

 4.

You are ready for the snow!
  • If you are taking a lesson, walk out the same door (towards) the parking lot and meet at the snow sports school tree at the assigned time.

  • If you are not taking a lesson, go outside and enjoy.

You do not need equipment...

Other common questions:

When will Blue Hills open?

It all depends on very cold temperatures, low humidity, special equipment, and a dedicated staff. Not only do we need these conditions to make snow, usually overnight, but we need them for several days in row in order to make snow and keep it on the slopes.

When will Blue Hills close?

Again it’s all about weather. With a combination of natural and our own man-made snow, we plan on staying open well into March.

As always: Know and Follow The Skier and Rider Responsibility Code.
